Hi,

It would be good to upgrade the configuration to support connecting to MySQL instances running on different ports. The real_connect function of mysql supports it, but currently the framework pass 'null' in all cases.

Thanks,

Try the modified code in the attached zip file and let me know if it works.

The file 'config.inc.default' shows where the new parameters 'dbport' and 'dbsocket' can be defined.

It works fine.

If you create a FAQ on this you should note that the localhost dbhost name must be 127.0.0.1 if you want to use a port other than the default. If you use 'localhost' it will only use the file based socket for connection.

Cheers,
