Upgrade Procedure [message #2381]

I have searched but failed to find a document on how to upgrade from one version to another. I can see how the php code can simply overwrite what is already there, but how do I ensure all the right database changes are made and any new data inserted?

If there are any changes required to the structure or contents of any databases then I create the relevant sql scripts and document them in the release notes. These notes can be found in the root folder in a file with the name 'radicore-yyyy-mm-dd.txt'.

It would be helpful to clearly group database changes in the 'radicore-yyyy-mm-dd.txt' file. Example:

2012-10-14, version 1.76.0
Database changes: 2 or 3 depending on [db]
audit/sql/[db]/alter_table(2012-06-08).sql
audit/sql/mysql/alter_table(2012-10-03).sql
dict/sql/[db]/dict.menu_export(2012-06-23).sql

... [other changes, keeping script explanations]

2012-06-03, version 1.75.0
Database changes: None

... [other changes]
