When trying to delete a role which has been de-linked from any users, the system will display:
Cannot delete - record still linked to MNU_ROLE_TASK table
However, there is no way to de-link the role from start task and the associated tasks, because start task is a mandatory field in role. Consequently, cannot delete role.

The message "Cannot delete - record still linked to MNU_ROLE_TASK table" indicates that there are records on the MNU_ROLE_TASK table for this role, and *not* the start task. You have to delete these records before you can delete the role. Select the role and press the 'Task Access' button to bring up the 'Link Task(s) to selected Role' screen. Press the 'Search' button and set the 'Selected' radio group at the bottom of the screen to 'Yes', then press 'Submit'. This will then return to the 'Link Task(s) to selected Role' screen and show all the tasks which are currently linked to that role. Press the 'unselect all' hyperlink to clear all the checkboxes, then press 'Submit' to update the database. Repeat until no more records exist. Now you will be able to delete the role.
